Cal Berkeley:

Brochure Mailer

For this project with Cal Berkeley, I found inspiration in one of the university’s most beloved figures — their spirited bear mascot, Oski. I wanted the design to capture some of that playful, energetic personality while staying true to the university’s strong brand identity.

I used Cal Berkeley’s official style guide as my foundation, weaving in familiar graphical elements from their existing branding to maintain consistency. By combining these brand staples with a fresh, Oski-inspired approach, the final design feels lively, welcoming, and unmistakably Cal.

For this two-sided, three-panel mailer, I wanted to create something more than just a piece of mail — I wanted it to spark interaction and school spirit.

At the heart of the design is a DIY Mascot Mask craft insert, fully hand-vectored by me and inspired by one of the earliest historic renderings of the university’s beloved mascot. I carefully built the illustration from the ground up, blending a sense of nostalgia with a fun, hands-on experience.

The result is a mailer that not only informs but invites recipients to engage directly with the university’s tradition in a creative, memorable way.

Social Media and Digital Ads:

For the digital and social media ads, I crafted playful, lighthearted copy to reflect the true spirit of Oski — a mascot known more for his charm and friendliness than ferocity.

Every line was designed to capture his approachable, whimsical character, helping the campaign feel more inviting and authentically connected to the heart of the Cal Berkeley community.
