Austin College:

Giving Day Postcard

Austin College was a vibrant and memorable client, thanks in part to their unique mascot — a kangaroo. I developed a range of digital and print materials for their campaigns, including email designs, postcards, and informational letters targeted to both students and parents. Each piece was crafted to reflect the college’s spirited identity while maintaining clear, engaging communication across platforms.

For this Giving Day postcard design, I set out to create a piece that felt like a personal keepsake — something lively, textured, and rich with meaning for Austin College’s 175th anniversary.

At the foundation, I layered a soft watercolor-inspired background, blending the college’s brand colors in a fresh, painterly way. Over this, I built a playful scrapbook effect, stacking pieces of “paper” textures that felt hand-assembled and organic, evoking a sense of memory and celebration.

Framing the postcard, I illustrated custom Texas Bluebonnets — the state flower — to ground the design in a sense of place. Tucked among the blooms, Austin College’s beloved “Roo” mascot peeks out, adding a whimsical, personal touch that invites a second glance.

Anchoring it all is the 175th anniversary logo-mark, proudly displayed to honor the college’s long and vibrant history, while keeping the overall tone fresh, energetic, and distinctly Austin College.
